Tom Yates is a British singer-songwriter with simple but strong melodies and intelligent, often ambitious lyrics. His new album "the pedalling tom yates" (2005) follows the debut album "empty mirror" (2002). Tom's broadjam pages feature tracks from both albums.

Tom Yates is a singer-songwriter whose songs combine simple but memorable tunes with intelligent, thoughtful lyrics. His new album 'the pedalling tom yates' is a beguiling collection of eleven new songs, often musically gentle, sometimes lush (thanks to the cello section), and with an arresting lyrical focus. Tom's new label Red Pen Records hopes to get the album into the shops: watch this space.

These broadjam pages also contain songs from Tom's debut album 'empty mirror' (2002), which more clearly demonstrated some of his influences (rock'n'roll, and Dylanesque folk-rock).

Tom currently leads a chaotic double life (in London and Brighton); he performs in bands (I Thalamus and Sparker) in both cities, and hopes to start gigging his own songs in the near future. He also plays cello in the EC4 Music orchestra. See the his website for details.
