TheLight Bio

Five years of ups and downs make J. Adams and Tiffany Dupree a couple qualified to teach the world about life and love as young people. Their music chronicles a REAL relationship – the arguments, the flirting, the temptations, the struggles, the friendship, the infatuation, and the ministry of a relationship that has lasted and is stronger than ever!

Their candid fluid sound is earthmoving and leaves most speechless. J is a soul music spawn who’s rhythmic style bleeds through his silky tenor. Tiff is a classically trained soprano with jazz talent and vocal ability out of this world; just put it like this, they’re basically the best of both worlds.

The dynamic boyfriend-girlfriend team packs a new flavor that is often compared to the likes of Hidden Beach’s Kindred, Kenny Lattimore and Chanté Moore, and the old school soul of Donny Hathaway and Roberta Flack with a new school groove. J and Tiff met several years ago at Middle Tennessee State University where they both were pursing musical studies. Since joining talents, the musical duo has been unstoppable – performing on various stages and venues. Their music woos the hearts of practically anyone who listens because of its endearing love and spirited undertones that speak a lot of their relationship and the years they’ve grown together. Their individual talents coupled together are just endless. Witnessing the two in a live performance captivates the mind, body, and soul. Their chemistry and spontaneity leave any audience thoroughly satisfied, yet wanting more of what they serve. J and Tiff are currently working on a project with several talented producers.

Individual Bios

J. Adams

J. “RighteouSS” Adams is a military brat who was born in New Orleans. Although he was raised all over from Guam to San Diego to Chattanooga, TN, his childhood was filled with heavy jazz influences from the Big Easy, as well as the soulful sounds of Donny Hathaway, Steve Wonder, Marvin Gaye and Luther Vandross. However, he’s truly a hip-hop enthusiast at heart. J has stayed true to the musical impressions of his youth and developed his own flavorful tone that’s reminiscent of past vocal talents missing in the industry today. As a teen, J sang with several choirs and groups throughout Chattanooga and studied classical voice in high school. At age 17 he recorded and produced his first vocal single and was offered a recorded deal by an independent label. J matriculated from Middle Tennessee State University, where he studied the ins-and-outs of the recording industry. He currently produces for many artists in the Middle Tennessee area. He has orchestrated numerous tracks within his studio located outside of Nashville for several underground projects in the area.

Tiffany Dupree

Tiffany was born in Atlanta and raised in Jackson, TN. As a child, her parents exposed her to several jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Etta James, and many more artists. Tiffany has had a musical gift from the beginning. At the tender age of five, Tiff would run around in her grandmother’s high-heels with a t-shirt on her head singing Tina Turner’s What’s Love Gotta Do With It. Tiffany is now a classically trained soprano and an astonishing songwriter and poet. Throughout her youth, she has performed with various choirs and church groups, as well as participated in pageants all across the state of Tennessee blessing audiences with her drop-dead gorgeous looks, melodic tones and out-of-this world vocal ability. Tiff studied jazz and classical music performance at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a lyricist that dips into many genres including jazz, gospel, and R&B/Soul music. Tiffany is also a talented photographer.

J and Tiffany. I love your music style and I'm writing to see if you are open to collaboration. I've been composing more music lately and wanted to bounce this off on you. Let me know if this is possible. Thanks and God bless.

Musically,
Clarence
