After several years as an active, high-profile presence in the New York City original-music scene, Jeb and Jock Guthrie were signed in 1995 to Next Horizon records, a Nashville-based indie start-up. Their CD, The Guthrie Brothers, was released nationally in 1996.
Touring in support of the CD and the single, The Eyes of My Dad, included warm-ups with country headliners John Berry and Bryan White, club appearances throughout the Midwest, Northeast and South, numerous on-air radio performances, and an appearance on TNN’s Prime Time Country television show. Billboard Magazine had this to say about the album: "Many stations will find the well-written, heartfelt lyrics and wonderful harmonies a welcome addition to their airwaves." The Guthrie Brothers continue to write, record and perform. Having had movie soundtrack placements and their songs recorded by other artists, they also pursue those avenues today.

Jeb and Jock Guthrie, THE GUTHRIE BROTHERS, have been singing together for as long as either one of them can remember-–a major reason for the perfect blend of their harmonies. Friendship and a shared passion for great vocal music typified by the Everly Brothers, Roy Orbison, Lennon and McCartney, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Eagles, to name a few, unite these two brothers in their quest for musical authenticity and perfection.
Though they now live in the New York City area, their rural Wisconsin upbringing continues to be a major influence on their songs and vocal style.
The Guthries' music achieved national prominence with their self-titled debut album which garnered them extensive radio airplay on both Americana and Country radio stations. The brothers' frequent club and concert touring has also included numerous live radio and television appearances.
