Terry Grinde - Keyboardist, singer/songwriter.

Welcome to my pages! I've been writing and performing for over 35 years and I really like using the internet to share my music with others.

I'm currently focusing on film and TV writing, but will be posting more country, rock and pop songs on this site as well.
Some of my songs have done quite well here on Broadjam, making several Top 10 Charts in various genres. Cigarettes and Beer" reached #1 on the Country-Honky Tonk chart. "The Bestest I Ever Had" reached #7 on the Blues/Country chart. "I Will Walk With You" reached #1 Wisconsin Top 10, #2 Pop-Easy Listening Top 10, #5 Midwest Top 10, & for the first time THE Pop Top 10 chart at #7.

Very proud to note that my band "5th GEAR" played Country Fest in Cadott, WI on June 28-29, 2014. Headliner Saturday was Brad Paisley, Sunday Florida Georgia Line.

"Could it Only Feel Like Christmas Everyday" received Honorable Mention in the Song of the Year Contest, a worldwide online songwriting contest - it reached #3 on Broadjam's Unique/Holiday Top 10 chart. "

What I've Been Up To

I have been writing and performing for 39 years.
I've got a new band going, it's called "5th GEAR". We started playing out in Jan. 2012, and it is going nicely. The genre is Top 40 Country, and we've learned nearly 70 covers of current country songs as our base material so we can get into the venues we want to play. Originals are in the picture in the next few of months as well! Very happy to mention that we'll be opening the Main Stage show for Love & Theft, Easton Corbin and Toby Keith at COUNTRY USA in Oshkosh this June.
Just wrapped a show with John Michael Montgomery in Riverside, Iowa over the weekend. Big crowd and big fun!
I've been with probably a dozen bands, and played in innumerable live music venues that include most of the small town honky tonks within 300 miles, the Dane County Memorial Coliseum, the historic Majestic Theater in Madison, WI, various bars all over Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota and the Dakotas, and a couple summers back the Moondance Jammin' Country Fest in Walker, MN, sharing that venue with Martina McBride, Neil McCoy, Trailer Choir, Sammy Kershaw, Kellie Pickler, Miranda Lambert, and several other top country acts.
I currently play and write country songs, but like all kinds of music. I prefer memorable, hummable melodies, with little to no unintelligible screaming. I've written maybe 100 songs I care to remember, and another 200 that I don't.
My most recent addition to my Broadjam page is a Christmas song, "Could It Only Feel Like Christmas, Everyday", based on my small town upbringing. I have to say it's my personal favorite here. It received an "Honorable Mention" award in the Song of the Year Contest, a worldwide online songwriting competition featuring 10 categories. There are 5 semi-finalists in each category (from which the overall winner is chosen), and 5 honorable mention awards in each category. Receiving Honorable Mention means my song placed in the top 10 in it's category, so I'm pretty proud of that!
I like all genres of music, and dabble in various areas when writing.
I hope you like my songs, and thanks so much for listening!

Hi Terry. A while ago you wrote us a GREAT review of our song"Everything". Kind of hoping you might enjoy the video link too. Thanks, Cairo Fred
The opening is absolutely great - jumps in your face and grabs you! The piano sound is remindful of Neil Finn arrangements (Crowded House).
