Welcome! These songs may just yet get you through quarantine...

I have worked with producers Scott Reiber from Skylab Productions and Rennie Grant from Grant Audio Design to produce distinct-sounding and diverse rock and folk songs since 1999.

In 2003, I was in the middle of recording "Stereo Plastics" when I shifted gears from songwriting to take vocal lessons. I became a student at the Musicians Institute of Baltimore for a year to learn from the amazing Steve Whiteman of Kix. This changed my life completely!

Soop Rock is the result of songs I have written since getting a guitar from Dad when I was 11. Dad has since moved on from this life, and I have found another new, abundant life.

All songs from this point forward will now be Christian, with the exception of perhaps a few light-hearted melodies.

See you on the other side...I hope. Repent and believe that Jesus is able to save to the uttermost those that come through Him to God. You won't be disappointed!

Welcome!

Welcome to the official site of Soop Rock... I personally guarantee that while you may have heard something like this before, you have NEVER heard anything like this at all.

I'm John Suprock... Let me take you on a personal tour through a unique journey that I have had the great opportunity to experience. I have worked with producers Scott Reiber from Skylab Productions and (previously) Rennie Grant from Grant Audio Design to produce distinct-sounding and diverse hard/soft rock songs and folk songs since 1999. In other words, I'm getting to be an old dude!

I shifted gears from songwriting when I took vocal lessons at the Musicians Institute of Baltimore (MIB) in 2002-2003 from Steve Whiteman of Kix. Singing was always frustrating to me, and Steve gave me the tools I needed to express the songs I wrote. Steve would be humble about this...but I have nothing but great appreciation for what he did for me, and I don't think he realizes just how much it changed my life completely! I was in the middle of recording my first major album, "Stereo Plastics" when I decided to take a year off to do this, and I emerged a seasoned singer in 2003.

Soop Rock is the result of songs I have written since receiving a guitar when I was 11 (1993) from my father. Recently, I have gotten back together with long-time friend and producer Scott Reiber so that we could co-produce songs for my new album "My Hill". Close to 6 songs are done officially, and your support will help us finish the album much quicker.

So, if you hear what you like, please buy a song. Your contribution will go a long way in helping us roll out great music to you sooner. (We have day jobs and families people!)

We'll see you when we see you!
