Scott Lamps' Bio

Less than a year after graduating with a degree in Music Composition, Scott was published for the first time in 2004 when his song "Let Me Lay My Head" was published in Nashville. Since then, he has written and collaborated on over 200 compositions.

From 2003 to 2006 Scott was a member of acoustic-pop group The Profits. He played upright bass, sang harmony and produced both of their studio albums.

In 2007, Scott wrote the music for a full-length adaptation of Sword in the Stone that was premiered by the Quest Theatre Ensemble in Chicago. He has scored several independent films including American Renaissance, Running Home, and Outside In and written for television.

His first album of songs was released in 2007, titled Music is Art. The collection includes Let Me Lay My Head and contains the unmistakable melody and lyrical sincerity that pervades Scott's work.

Scott's work as a producer tends toward arranging as he unifies the deepens sound of the artists with whom he works. His expansive understanding of music, his use of stringed instruments and vocals, and his unconventional mic-ing techniques give his work a distinctive sound that is raw, energized and organic.
