Bio
Born in Baltimore and raised in Hebron, Maryland, Rick was drawn to music at an early age. He has studied piano, music theory, trumpet and composition, and attended The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University. Influenced by a diversity of cultures and artists in a gamut of genres, music is his expression of life’s flavor and possibilities. Rick has won numerous composition awards, and his music has been used worldwide for a variety of events and installations.
Rick is currently composing the score for Undressed, an original multimedia dance theatre production that tells the story of a young woman’s encounter with the complex dynamics of male and female energies and roles in Nuevo Argentine Tango. Rick is energized by the collaboration of diverse artists, each with distinct cultural and artistic backgrounds, who have come together to create a production that is alive with Latino World expression.
