Bio

Rick Hulswit began his performance career as a lead singer in two successful bands during his high school years. After high school, Rick was accepted into New York City's prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts to study voice, acting, and dance. Rick appeared in leading roles in both musical and dramatic productions touring in regional and summer stock theatre.

Rick then started composing his own music and lyrics. This led to solo cabaret showcases at New York's Village Gate and Paulsen's Dinner Theatre. Teaming up with the 80's style progressive rock band Eden's Gate as lead singer/lyricist, he co-wrote, produced and sang lead vocals on two CDs, one recorded at the Carriage House in Stamford, CT. The band opened for such national acts as Dokken at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury and Toad's Place in New Haven, CT.

Since 2001, Rick has been focusing on a solo career as a singer/songwriter and just completed writing and recording his EP entitled "Until I Win." He worked with engineer Buck Brundage in Brewster, NY to produce the CD and had it mixed and mastered by 2002 Latin Jazz Grammy winner Phil Maganotti.

Rick likes to think of his music today as adult alternative theatrical pop with a passion for soul. Rick currently studies classical voice with Bel Canto award recipient, Pamela Hoffman. While enjoying the pursuit of a solo career, he regularly collaborates and records with other artists as he polishes his own musical style.
