Bio

Maybe Next Year (MNY) is a brand new punk/pop group formed in early 2005. Offering driving rhythms, infectious melodies and everyone-can-relate-to lyrics, it is sure to take the music scene by storm.

If we go back to before MNY, all the members played in other bands that made their mark on the local music scene. During that time their musical talents evolved and they learned the roots of the business, having participated in 300 shows over the last five years.

With this new project, the group wanted to take a different approach to making music; wanted to take the time to write genuine, heartfelt songs that would hook the listener at the first listen. There is great chemistry between the members – they have a common vision; they're hardworking, passionate and sincere about their music. They push back the limits, trying new things, incorporating a variety of instruments, some of them unusual: strings, piano, keyboards, drum loops, various electro sounds. Originality is something hard to achieve, it takes time, lots of trial and error but the guys think it's all coming together, as they are slowly but surely achieving their own sound.

MNY felt it was important, in the start-up phase, that they, themselves, independently launch their new project: a DIY project. Their first goal was to compose, record and produce 12 songs as well as promote the band and develop a good, solid fan base. As a result, for example, on myspace their music has so far been heard by about 150,000 persons, not to mention tens of thousands of other “friends” throughout the network.

Now that they have reached their preliminary goal they are ready to seek the help and resources that the industry has to offer in order to build on their success and reach new highs. MNY has enough material to cut a full album, and is ready to sign on a record deal. They are eager to make their debut CD, go on tour, meet their fans all over the world. And they look forward to forming a positive partnership that would be beneficial for all concerned.

Although currently in the process of seeking a partner with whom it could enter into a record deal, the band is not remaining idle. It continues to be very active and pursues its work of creating and composing in the studio as well as practicing to put together the best live show possible.
