MILES JAYE Davis, like his namesake the legendary trumpeter Miles Davis, is one of music’s most gifted, distinctive and dynamic artists. MILES laid the groundwork for excellence with his three highly acclaimed and successful CDs MILES, IRRESISTIBLE and STRONG on Island Records.

In 1992, he established an independent label, Black Tree Records, Inc., releasing four recordings - DIVINE ASCENSION, ROMANTIC STORM, “the ODYSSEY” and HUMANITY.

Miles was discovered by R&B singing sensation, Teddy Pendergrass and in 1988 produced the certified gold CD, JOY for his mentor. He performed and toured as the lead singing “Cop” for the Village People, jazz guitarist Eric Gale and songstress Phyllis Hyman.

Miles has penned and recorded more than 40 original compositions, has the distinction of recording 12 different instruments and has also produced seven chart-topping hits – “Let’s Start Love Over”; “I’ve Been A Fool For You”; “Objective”; “Heaven”; “I’ll Be There”, “Sensuous” and “Strong”.

He returns to the forefront of music and distinguishes his status as a master songwriter, musician and vocalist with a brilliantly creative CD, HUMANITY, his 7th album and 4th on his independently owned record label, Black Tree Records.

Miles Jaye was discovered by R&B singing sensation, Teddy Pendergrass and in 1988 produced the certified gold CD JOY for his mentor. He was also the lead singing “Cop” for the world-renowned disco group the Village People. He served five years in the U.S. Air Force and upon his return to his hometown of New York City, began impressing audiences while performing with jazz guitarist Eric Gale and songstress Phyllis Hyman.
As a writer, Miles has penned and recorded more than 40 original compositions and has the distinction of recording 12 different instruments on several of his critically acclaimed CDs. This classically-trained violinist has also produced seven chart-topping hits – “Let’s Start Love Over”; “I’ve Been A Fool For You”; “Objective”; “Heaven” “I’ll Be There”, “Sensuous” and “Strong” – and enjoys a reputation as an R&B and Contemporary Jazz writer, partnering with some very notable jazz giants on his musical recordings -- Grover Washington, Jr., Roy Ayers, George Duke, Branford Marsalis, Dexter Wansel and Nat Adderley, Jr.

As further testament to his musical diversity and appeal, Miles has also successfully shared the live performance stage with some well-known R&B and Jazz performers: Roberta Flack; Grover Washington, Jr.; Najee; Gerald Albright; Kirk Whalum; Boney James; Lee Ritenour; Jonathan Butler; Patti LaBelle; Peabo Bryson; Chaka Kahn; Bobby Caldwell; O’Jays; Gerald Levert; Kem; Glenn Jones; M’lissa Morgan; Keith Washington, CeCe Winans, Regina Bell, Marion Meadows, Waymon Tisdale; and Pieces of A Dream, to name a few.

This CD runs the gambit from carefully crafted romantic ballads such as “Love Affair”; “Forget About the Other Night” and “Kiss the Bed” to the rhythmic “Should Have Been Strong”; “Sweet Honey, Sweet Cream”; “Promise Me”; “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and the title song “Humanity”.
