Midwest began in October 2003 when Jason Thomas began his painful recovery. Unable to walk for a year and a half due to a severe back injury, he began his career as a songwriter, eventually leading to a full recovery.

In Mar of '06, Jason began his debut album "Just Relax and Let Go," (released on Oct 13, '06). Jason has distributed over 2000 units, received airplay on Peoria's 96.5, and has has been published in the Peoria Journal Star in Aug of '06. Working with Chris Donnelly of MGProductions, Jason shot two music videos for "Under the Snow" and "Many Stories."

Although Jason endured his painful experience, he considers it a
blessing. "It really gave me the focus and drive I needed to develop my talent. Before my injury, I never thought I was good enough to pursue music. It took a very difficult experience for me to realize the only thing I've ever really known. I had nothing else but
music, and I fell in love with holding my guitar and creating something meaningful."

Jason Thomas is Midwest

Midwest began in October 2003 when Jason Thomas began his painful
recovery. Unable to walk for a year and a half due to a severe back
injury, Jason Thomas began his career as a songwriter, which would
eventually lead to a full recovery.

Able to walk again in January 2005, Jason immediately started to play
every opportunity that came his way. Whether it was a coffee house, a
bar, or a house show, Jason was there. After playing all over Illinois
and distributing over one thousand demos, Jason started to record
professionally with Mike Layne at Noise Gate Studios in Pekin, IL.

In March of 2006, Jason Thomas began recording his first full length
album "Just Relax and Let Go." This title was chosen from the lyrics of
one of Midwest's singles, "Sign Off." When asked about the album title,
Jason said, "I was unable to walk for so long and I had absolutely no
control over it. The only thing I could do was try to relax and
concentrate on doing what I love to do--writing songs." "Just Relax and
Let Go" was released on October 13th, 2006. Because of his new cd
release, Jason was able to distribute over two thousand units, receive
airplay on Peoria's 96.5, and has had an article published on his
journey as a songwriter in the Peoria Journal Star in August of 2006.

Jason Thomas assigned James Johnson as his Manager and Heather Kosur as
his Public Relations Agent in June of 2006. Together they started
Midwest Music Productions to represent Midwest as well as other artists.
Working together with Chris Donnelly of Mad Guy Productions, Jason shot
his first and second music videos for the songs "Under the Snow" and
"Many Stories." You can find both videos on www.myspace.com/midwestil .
Jason Thomas has already made plans to tour the entire east coast this
coming spring of 2007. He has also laid out plans to get back in the
studio to record his second album, beginning in January of 2007.

Although Jason endured his painful experience, he considers it a
blessing. "It really gave me the focus and drive I needed to develop my
talent. Before my injury, I never thought I was good enough to pursue
music, so I didn't. It took an incredibly difficult experience to help
me realize the only thing I've ever really known. I had nothing else but
music to keep me going, and I really fell in love with holding my guitar
and creating something that's meaningful."
