Singer - Guitarist - Songwriter

Songwriter - Musician - Producer

As far back in his youth as Michael can remember, music was a part of his family life. Born to parents who were both jazz musicians; his father was a saxophone player, his mother a singer; their home was always full of music. He carries with him the vivid memories of his father practicing daily on his tenor, and his mother always singing as she worked around the house. Sometimes he got to go along to gigs and jam sessions with his parents as well.

When Michael was 12 years old his father suddenly died and left a big hole in Michael's life. He began to take up the guitar and by the time he was 15 he was in a well-known band that was packing the people into local events. Later in his teens even his teachers became aware of his reputation and talent. His High School Counselor convinced the Principal to allow him to leave school after his morning classes and go home to practice his instrument and rehearse with his band which at that point was opening for national acts! After graduating High School his reputation and popularity as a guitar player grew throughout the Washington, DC area as his band performed at local clubs and concerts.

But it wasn't until he got his fist 4 Track Tape Recorder that he developed a passion for writing and recording his own songs. Because he was handy with all things electronic, he quickly put together a studio for himself and his band in the basement of his home. In no time at all it became a gathering place for many of the area's musicians. When a wealthy friend of his asked Michael to design and build a full-sized 16-track studio, he agreed to do it for unlimited studio time during off hours. His passion grew as he spent many late nights refining his craft in that studio. Soon his songs and those of the artists/bands he engineered and produced began to win in local song competitions and get airplay on some of the stations. At that point he knew that writing and recording music was his greatest passion.

His song, "I Know You Love Me", was included on the FM105.1 "Washington Rocks" album. Michael wrote and recorded "Welcome Home", for the "B" side of John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band's single "All Around The World". His song "I'll Wait For You" was a winner of the DC101 local artists songwriting contest. He also performed with the “Wammy Award” winning group "Downtown" and released an EP with the band "Force Of Habit."

Today Michael continues to refine his craft and is seeing better results with each new song. He has placed well or been a finalist in many international song competitions such as the Billboard Song Contest, UNISONG Song Contest, Great American Song Contest, John Lennon Song Contest, and the USA Songwriting Competition. He has also had several forwards through TAXI. He continues to work toward the goal of consistently writing great songs and getting them cut by great artists. He records all his demos in his own 64 Audio Track, 64 MIDI Channel Project Studio and usually performs all the parts himself. He continues to perform as a Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist in the Washington/Baltimore region.
