“For Micah Wolf, paradise is as far as the front door. He’s fortunate enough to call Hawaii home. But for the rest of us less fortunate souls, Micah has been kind enough to recreate the melodic sounds of paradise…” –eFolkMusic.org

This is an organic album, in the truest sense of the word. Micah and his long-time friend and band mate, Eric DeVine, built this record from the ground up. Literally. DeVine handcrafts guitars and ukuleles, building the instruments used in the recording of the album that they produced in their hand-built studio. Oh, and the disc is also being released on the record label, Blockplane Records, that the two of them started. This from the ground up process is a heartfelt testament to the dedication and passion Micah has for his music and for the overall beauty of life.

Bio

Micah Wolf takes folk-rock reminiscent of Jack Johnson and Ben Harper and owns it with subtle confidence. While the music at first seems vaguely familiar, Micah makes it all his own, layering light, thought-provoking lyrics over tranquil, acoustic guitar rhythms. This disc is unapologetically cheerful and laid back, but maintains an emotional intensity that makes the disc poignant and accessible.

Born in Brainbridge Island, WA, Micah lead a somewhat nomadic lifestyle. His mother’s adventurous spirit and standard of existence found them living in Idaho, Bear Springs, Arizona, a coastal town in Mexico, and with a traditional Cree Indian family in Saskatchewan, Canada. They eventually became permanent fixtures in Hawaii. It was due to these unique experiences, along with many a camp fire whose air was filled with Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley, that helped shape Micah’s creativity and outlook on life, which he then poured into his music.
