My Bio

The roots and talent originate from White Plains, New York where Michael Cooper was born but moved to Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 2 where he began his true craft. His enthusiasm for music started at the tender age of eight years old at Woodmoor Elementry School where he was chosen to be in the young talented youth chorus. He later went on to perform at a concert that was broadcast on Baltimore Public Television. A year later Michael joined band and started reading music and playing the trumpet. Michael continued with his craft and was accepted in Sudbrook Magnet Middle School for the performing arts program where he played both band and chorus, and was seated first chair which meant his playing level excelled above all students in the throughout grade school and middle school.
Michael's parents later moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia in 1998 where he attended Creekland middle school where he continued to accelerate in band; although no longer chorus Michael's focus was the art of musical instruments. During that time Michael met long time friend Cee Copeland who has helped Michael musically throughout the years. Michael began to venture off experimenting with the piano and taught himself how to play. In 2002 he was chosen to perform in Orlando, Fl at Walt Disney World Epcot Center for Disney's celebration of music.
By 2003, Michael began playing the keyboard at Christ the King Baptist Church for the youth choir on 4th Sundays, but quickly earned a position playing every Sunday. Michael started to transform into a piano player with the help of his mentors Ron Moore, Jeff Hargrove, Isaac Harris. Isaac Harris became Michael's strong influence with his teachings and playing style. The same year Michael graduated Collins Hill High School and had ambitions to move to Orlando to be a recording engineer.
The next year Michael moved to Orlando, Fl and attended Valencia Community College where he studied to be an engineer. In 2004 Michael, Mr.Cope, and a producer from Ohio were involved in a production team called the Triangle Offense. The Triangle Offense was three musicians that combined their raw talents to make instrumentals for artists. Triangle Offense ended in 2005 when Michael and Mr.Cope moved back to Georgia.
The same year Michael linked back up with long time friend and band player Malcolm Tywman and started playing the piano in a small church called World Life. During that time Michael went on to play the piano for a well known family gospel choir called OJG. Michael gained plenty of stage experience and knowledge for playing with a live band.
Currently Michael is residing in Kissimmee, Fl with his wife and son and is building an indie label called 88 Keyz Music Group with Corey "King Coop" Cooper which will be one of his featured artists on the label.
