Mark Miller Biography

Mark Miller was born in Houston, Texas on August 7, 1978. His family would often move from one town to another as his father would often relocate for work. Mark grew up in Rye, Liberty, Channelview and then graduated from Houston’s Klein Forest High School.

Upon Graduating in 1996, Mark enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. It was during this time that he started working with music more actively. Although down time was uncommon, he managed to teach himself to play guitar and began writing songs during his spare time.

When Mark was discharged, he moved to Austin, Texas to polish his craft. Mark was immediately recognized as up and coming. He was invited to join in songwriters nights, acoustic shows and weekly jams that often included members of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band, Asleep at the Wheel and Dixie Chicks’ band. It was during this time that he truly developed his passion for performing live.

Mark later moved to Houston to take a job as a Houston Firefighter. It was here that he truly developed his own sound and songwriting style; a cross between traditional, Modern and Texas country. He has since assembled some of the best musicians in Texas currently plays in some of the top venues in Texas while steadily growing a devoted fan base.

Mark is fast becoming a favorite among new Texas acts and 2006 looks to be a milestone year for his career. Currently he is nominated by the Academy of Texas Music for the “Rising Star” award and his freshly released single “The High Life” is already making an impact on the Texas Music Chart. Keep listening because it won’t be long before Mark Miller is a household name in the Texas Country Music scene.
