In their sophomore release, Lady Jane Grey, comprised of Sarah Hoover (lead vocals and cello) and guitarist David Martin, explore the search for love from almost every angle, beginning with the opening lines of “This is Love” and punctuating the album with Jimmy MacCarthy's classic “Bright Blue Rose.” In the notes between, they bare their souls, often choosing intensely personal themes as subject matter. An album rich in depth and stylistic diversity, Love and the Search For... is, for their loyal fan base, an appropriate (and much anticipated) follow-up to their debut album; for others, the CD is an introduction to an incredibly unique pair of artists. Sarah Hoover’s passionate, flawless vocal delivery is showcased like never before, and the songwriting, a shared effort by the duo, is mature, honest, and universal.

Bio

Moody, passionate, with rare depth and honesty... Lady Jane Grey's music has been described as the type of music that carries you away on a rainy day. The duo formed in May, 1998, and in a world filled with "girls with guitars," they committed from the beginning to stand out in the crowd. While playing as the weekly house band for a coffeehouse in Bandera, TX, they decided to relegate the guitar playing to David Martin so that lead singer Sarah Hoover could hone her skills on the cello. The cello became a key element in their music, and is now what sets them apart. >Lady Jane Grey have received much attention in the relatively short time they have been together. In May of 1999 they were handpicked out of hundreds of acts as finalists in the Lilith Fair talent search. They were featured on MusicChoice's "Unsigned" show, reaching an audience of 12 million satellite viewers. They were named one of 7Ball magazine's top "25 Unsigned Artists Who Rock" and featured in the magazine's cover story in July of 2000. They have had great success on the charts of the major mp3 sites on the internet, including a #1 song ("Fire"), which remained in the top position for over 6 weeks in the UK.
