LaDoFaSil Band Biography

The name "LaDoFaSil" was originally chosen by its members for its double entendre meaning. "LaDoFaSil" not only refers to the Colombian system of solfege, but also means "the easy side" in Colombian slang. The easy side is exactly what the LaDoFaSil Band represents through their music. The band has been steadily gaining fans among South Floridians by providing a unique blend of Latin and Island flavors that are guaranteed to offer a fun and relaxing vibe for the listener. The LaDoFaSil Band was originally formed out of Broward College jazz ensemble rhythm section members, guitarist Javier Urrutia; bassist Joe Stamm; and drummer/percussionist Sebastian Cruz were chosen to back popular Colombian singer/songwriter Lina Maria Gonzalez. With the addition of male vocalist and acoustic guitarist Ricardo Ruiz the band's line-up was solidified and ready for the public. The band debuted with a four month engagement at Archie's Bar and Restaurant in Aventura, Florida as the premier weekly entertainment. The band quickly gained fans while refining their stage performance during their tenure at Archie's. After ending their run at Archie's the band was offered opportunities to perform at both the Weston and Cape Coral Colombian Independence Day Festivals. Subsequently, the band's hard work paid off as they were selected to open for the headlining act; the popular Colombian Artist Fonseca during the 4th Annual Cape Coral Colombian Independence Day Festival. Upon Lina's return to Colombia the LaDoFaSil Band has remained intact performing through out the South Florida Area. Their current line-up consists of Ricardo Ruiz (lead Vocals); recently added Guillermo Navarro (guitar); Javier Urrutia (guitar); Joe Stamm (bass); and Sebastian Cruz (drums). They are currently working on recording original material between bookings for private parties and local clubs.
