Kwame Brandt-Pierce can usually be found in the dark recesses of his Brooklyn lair composing music and writing radio plays, short stories,and children's fiction. An accomplished pianist, he has performed and/or recorded with such artists as Saul Williams, Martin Luther, Alice Smith,and Amel Larrieux. In 1996 he formed his experimental Hip Hop Orchestra 3beanstew. The group is an ecletic blend of Tom Waits, The Beatles, and Parliament/Funkadellic, and has performed at countless venues including Aaron Davis Hall, The Paradiso (in Amsterdam), and the Nuyorican Poets Cafe where they held a residency for 3 years. In 2001 he graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with an M.F.A. in Musical Theatre after which, he toured 11 countries in Europe playing at various venues including the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
He is currently in the studio cranking out 3beanstew's latest recording, and composing a Hip Hopera incorporating live music and puppetry.
