Koorby creates musical ointment for the soul. He paints electronic landscapes using lush textures, colorful layered melodies and jazz influenced rhythms which are supplemented by simple but rich orchestral arrangements. Koorby's music is well suited to short film or cinema; or something to enjoy curled up on your favourite sofa on a rainy day.

He says "I create my music to be enjoyed, to inspire and to make you feel warm inside. I paint onto my musical canvas from the heart, so you'll feel raw emotion; elation, sadness, melancholy - whatever mood I was experiencing at the time".

Koorby has recently returned to making music after a fifteen year hiatus and a hectic globe trotting corporate life. He's slowed down his pace a little and discovered the magic of software instruments and the convenience of using his laptop to craft his musical journeys.

Bio

I gave up my music lessons at age 15 after my piano teacher fired me. I started making electronic music back in 1981 with my trusty old Roland SH-101 (for the uninitiated that's a vintage analog monophonic synthesizer) and got into using MIDI instruments with computers in 1988. My wife and teenage kids tolerate my VEH (Very Expensive Hobby) and occasionally even listen to my music. We live in a country town outside of Melbourne, Australia. I'd like one day to make music for film or TV.

Sensitive and heartfelt. Deep and, at times, haunting. Beautiful and engaging. A piece like this shows raw emotion and exposes so much of you, the artist, to the listener. It's like you are sharing an intimate liifelong secret. Abslolutely wonderful work. Top notch. Couldn't be better...in the writing or playing category.
