palatable. His debut album entitled 'Vintage Soul' aptly provides an eclectic musical
vineyard in which to showcase the aromatic expression of this Detroit, Michigan native's
musical prowess.
Born and reared in the Motor City, this amazing artist cultivated the seeds of his humble
start within the music industry by listening to well known singers such as Al Green (for
whom many have mistaken his vocal abilities), Teddy Pendergrass, Little Milton, Bobby
Blue Bland, Sam Cooke and gospel legend Rance Allen.
Throughout his entire life, Kitrel knew that he possessed a God-given talent to sing. From
constant requests to perform Love and Happiness at family gatherings to years of hiding
his abilities in music class due to his shy demeanor, Kitrel worked at his craft in the privacy
of his own abode until opportunity literally came knocking at his door. Through the urging
of a friend employed with record label NVS, Kitrel made the decision to pursue a
professional singing career in the entertainment industry.
During one stint in Pennsylvania, Kitrel detoured into the courtyard of a local project. Not
certain why he ended up there, he began to do what he does best; sing. He described the
incident as amazing when forty or more children sat down on the lawn in front of him and
people started hanging out of their windows requesting that he sing more. It is for this
reason that Kitrel aspires to lift the spirit's of his audiences by providing them with an
updated fusion of 'old school' favorites and contemporary cutting edge swagger.
