Being a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist, Kenny Ruffin's music is strongly influences by melody, catchy hooks and thoughtful lyrics.

His style comes from his exposure to what his father would say, "the real singers". Influenced by jazz greats Johnny Hartman, Frank Sinatra, Lou Rawls and Joe Williams, Kenny also listened to everything from Jeffrey Osborne, Luther Vandross and Donnie Hathaway to Sade, Seal, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder who he had the opportunity to performed with.
