About Kelly:

Hey! Thanks for checking out my website and listening to some of my songs! I figured I should probably tell you about myself here...other than what you gain from the stories I write. I'm from a big family (6 kids) in a small town (Pittston, PA - to be exact).
I was incredibly shy as a child and didn't talk much, if at all, until about the age 7 when I walked up in front of the congregation at my church and started singing. (I vaguely remember this but am always reminded when I see people who knew me then). Of course, everyone was a little shocked since most of them had never even heard me speak. I haven't shut up since. :) On New Years Day, I drove out out to NYC with my sister and best friend. We stood in Times Square and I remember looking around at the remains of what I'd seen the night before on TV with Dick Clark. Even with the City looking a mess, it was awesome. That October I gave away all of my stuff, took what I needed, and headed out of town. My sister would join me later that month. We spent a year or so sleeping on the floor of a one bedroom box in Jersey City Heights. I worked outdoors at a Christmas Tree stand in Soho for a month straight and it was CRAZY COLD! I cried a lot! It was the hardest year to date...Still, I knew what I'd wanted and the experience was amazing. Things are much better these days! Thank God!
I remember walking around in awe for the first...well, I still do sometimes. I quickly jumped on the open mic scene and was playing 3 or 4 times a night in NYC and meeting amazing people and musicians. I signed on with a producer, worked a million hours a week, and recorded my debut album "In the Margins". The album made the Grammy Ballot in 8 categories! As both a performer and a writer, I was over the moon!!!! Not only had I watched the Grammy Awards pretty much since I was born, but I would record them and watch it all year. I'm currently in the studio working on my second album and I'm REALLY excited!
I am so grateful for every person, process, and experience that has helped shape me today. I look forward to creating and giving more of myself through my music and who knows, maybe more....I have become pretty crafty in the kitchen and I still have my headphones from my radio days!
