Karin Brennan is one singer-songwriter who refuses to blend in to the crowd. With the heartfelt intensity of a Rickie Lee Jones and the vocal agility of a Sarah McLachlan, Brennan's distinctive sound may be the first thing that captures your attention, but her well crafted pop songs will leave you humming her choruses and craving a repeat performance.

In 2004 Karin won Best Folk Song with "King's X" for the Song of the Year Contest, and honorable mention with "Mr. Maybe" in the Broadjam Summer Music Challenge.

She has performed live in New York at The Bitter End, CBGB’s, The Living Room and Downtime.

Bio

Karin Brennan was born the sixth of eight children in Orange, California. By the age of 5 she was writing melodies on an air-powered toy organ, and picking out Neil Young songs on a $10 classical guitar. It was not until she attended The Eugene O'Neil Theatre Centre's National Theatre Institute, during her senior year in college, did she discover her voice to be her most useful instrument. Shortly thereafter, Karin picked up a guitar (this time for good) and started writing songs.

Since moving to New York City in 1998 Karin has performed at The Bitter End, CBGB's Gallery, The Living Room and the Dark Star Lounge. Karin?s songs have placed numerous times in Broadjam Top Ten listings. In 2004 Karin won honorable mention in the Broadjam Summer Music Challenge, and was a finalist for the Song of the Year contest. In addition to songwriting, Karin is an accomplished jingle & voice-over artist with One Track Music and French Films; lending her vocal talents to commercials, artist demos & soundtracks.

Karin has attended Carnegie Mellon University, the National Theatre Institute, and holds a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Pittsburgh.
