Right now, the whole nation has their eye on St. Louis, thanks to artist like Nelly, Chingy, and Jkwon. St. Louis grown rapper, Kanecc, is on the way to putting his city on the map once again, by showing the world that the STL can deliver more than the stereotypical, commercialized, "gimmick" rap.

His passion for music began nearly two decades ago, when as a young boy, he would bang makeshift drumsticks, on empty buckets of chitterlings– just for the love of the beat. As he got older, he traded in his homemade instruments for a drum machine and a sampler keyboard, and a hustler in the "rap game" was born. Kanecc perfected the art of creating beats, and evolved into a lyricist. He was recognized for his talents and signed to an independent label at the age of fifteen. He made beats for himself and other aspiring, local artist, such as members of the St Lunitics, who went on to be signed with Universal Records.

Even though, music was his life, it was running a close race with Kanecc’s ties to the streets. Although, this caused many set backs in his career, his lifestyle fueled the fire for his rhymes. He parted ways with his label and was on the grind, trying to make his career happen. However, it was beginning to appear that every time a door was opened, the windows were closed and he had many ventures fall through.
