JOEL GOVE

Coming out of the Germantown(WI) music factory of the late 80's few song writers could match the quantity of mono-musical or "one part" songs produced by Joel. Some would think that this was a tribute to the A-dimensional psychedelic bands of the late 60's, however, it spoke more to Joel's lack of talent and ambition. But with the collaboration of best friends Dan and Dave West songs like Nazis at a Brat Fry and I Shot My Friend were able to speak to singles of people.

Over the next few years these three evolved their craft through many different bands (Dairyland Youth, Rhinelander, Hummer) and even worked up to multi-part songs. In the mid 90's Dan and Dave fled from the homeland to pursue other endeavors and re-start the ultra chic Catlick Records out of Minneapolis. Joel sat at home with an acoustic guitar, a Spinal Tap DVD, and a 12 pack of Blatz.

This leads us today where Joel is now participating in the FAWM (February is Album Writers Month) project in an attempt to jump start his creative juices. He has also reunited With Dan and Dave to produce a Dairyland Youth Disc. The songs that appear on this site are those that were produced for 2007 FAWM.
