So Who is this Jeff Miller?

Jeff Miller is a pretty normal guy. He doesn't dress strange, or speak in metaphors. He doesn't try to make his voice sound breathy when he's singing, in an effort to charm the girls. He doesn't go to all the parties, or do drugs. He's never been to rehab.

So where does he find inspiration for his songs? Miller knows that most of us are real, down-to-earth people who would rather relate to a song than be entertained by some star's wild antics or wilder sense of fashion.

He also knows that there's more to life than love and sex. As a result, you will find that he's writing about a wider range of topics and experiences, whether it be dealing with mortality in "Can't Take it With You", or the idea of starting over, in "Lost in the Crowd". Each of these songs is from his third and latest album, "Seesaw", whose title track deals with the ups and downs we all go through in life.

Playing over 100 shows a year, Miller is able to take his "normal" material out to audiences on and surrounding the east coast. Here, they can witness not only his ability to write about the varying aspects of life that we all witness and confront, but also his love of music and the guitar. At his solo live shows, Miller uses a sampling machine to record vocal and guitar parts as he plays. He can be found hitting and slapping his guitar as well as playing it, and even singing into it at times. Though his background and life may be pretty normal, his guitar playing is far from it.

Miller doesn't want to pretend to be something he's not. No one can be Jeff Miller as well as Jeff Miller can. And he's comfortable with writing about "normal" topics.
