"Yeah we're brothers" says Jah Keyz and Jay, two artists who form the group Soopuh. Jah Keyz and Jay are Alabama natives with unique lyrics and a sound made to entice people to think, dance, and reflect upon their own personal experiences.
Soopuh, which was formed in early 2012, is comprised of Jay and Jah Keyz. Two friends, who've known each other for over 12 years, making their transition to a group somewhat easy,. "We became friends through my younger brother, and now we've become brothers in life as well as in making music". Relays Jay. " I got connected to Jay, because I was in a group with his brother, and we all could rap and our personalities melded so well, that we all became close like brothers, then me and Jay figured..'Let's see what we can create as a team' and thus Soopuh is born". Says Jah Keyz.
They describe their style as a melting pot because they feel that they can speak from different perspectives giving their sound a uniqueness that's missing from hip-hop."We're really different and get along so well, and the different types of music and sounds and life experiences that have influenced us really make us sound well together" Says Jay. With their new single "Work It Fa Mi" set to drop soon and with their first single "Yelabone" previously on iTunes already hitting the market. Soopuh is looking to make its imprint immediately on the music scene.
"We're coming" Says Jah Keyz. "And telling our story is what we plan to do"
