Bio

Jameson Rider Sand was born and raised in the country of New Hampshire in the dirt road town of Sanbornton. Like most, his childhood was rocky. Because of this, he turned to music as a crutch to help him get through the hard times. He started out making mix tapes, recording songs from the radio. If he turned the radio dial just right he could get the Boston hip hop station JAMN 94.5. While getting some of his music from the radio, he was heavily influenced by the music that his siblings and parents listened to. His parents listened to mostly classic rock, blues, jazz and bluegrass, while his siblings were into anything ranging from James Brown to The Dead Kennedys to Snoop Dogg (Doggystyle years) to Genesis to Cypress Hill to The Cure. At the age of thirteen he bought his first set of turntables. He soon taught himself how to mix and scratch. From there he bought a BOSS SP-303 Sampler and began producing at the age of sixteen. After a while, he realized he needed more tools. He received Propellerhead's Reason and Cool Edit Pro at the age of 17 and once again taught himself how to use the software programs. He graduated from high school at Sant Bani School the same year. He was not sure what he wanted to do with his life yet, so he took a year off, moved out of his parent's house, and worked full time in a warehouse. From there, he went to college at the University of New Hampshire to pursue his track and field career. While at college he realized that music was his true passion. He stuck through UNH for two and a half years, but knew that he needed to attend Full Sail University for Recording Arts. He dropped out of UNH and moved down to Winter Park, Florida in the fall of 2006. He graduated with his associates degree in Recording Arts, and is currently going for his bachelors degree in Music Business. Six years after he received Reason and Cool Edit Pro, he is using the same tools to produce his music, with the addition of a keyboard.
