Bio

Within the realm of declining record sales, sparsely populated concert venues, and a growing repertoire of music that sounds all too similar, fans are becoming fatigued of digesting the same musical loops, hooks, and sounds over and over again. The death of Pop seems almost imminent, yet Pop Rock band I Nine, a five-piece band driven by a perpetual momentum to share their fervent stories of musical bliss in ways never conceived, begs to differ.

From its inception in September 2003, I Nine was an intriguing idea for the local music scene in Columbia, SC. Its unusual instrumentation, featuring cello, creates a depth unparalleled in today's popular music. Combined with the brilliant vocals and lyrical openness of Carmen Keigans, the music of I Nine offers a distinctive sound that listeners are sure to appreciate.

Amid busy college and work schedules, they have written enough material for a full-length album. The group has been performing regularly in the Southeast area where it has been rapidly gaining attention among local fans. On January 17, 2004, I Nine opened for internationally renowned cellist Matt Haimovitz at the New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC.

In addition, I Nine released their debut self-titled EP on January 17, 2004. It consists of three original songs entitled “Beckon,” “I’m Alive,” and “Waited Too Long.” The album is available for free download from their website at http://www.i9band.com.
