Suzanne Ciana, David Arkenstone, Yanni (a little bit) and Enya (again, a little bit)....alot of people say my music sounds like film music.

Vangelis, Ulrich Schnauss, Darshan Ambient, About 9, George Skaroulis, The Album Leaf, Deuter, Film Composers (too many to list!), Beethoven, Chopin, Vaughan Williams, Mahler, Wagner, Chick Corea, Aaron Copland, Yes, Dave Brubeck, Yanni, Enya, David Arkenstone and a host of others from New Age to Classical to Electronic/Ambient to Rock...pretty much, I like a wide variety of music!

Sharon West has composed four previous solo albums (releasing her 5th solo CD in January 2104) and has been schooled in numerous instruments throughout her life: piano, recorder, violin and saxophone and now has entered the world of orchestral and electronic music as well to capture the music she hears in her head, heart and soul. After getting 2 degrees in Engineering and an MBA and 20 years in the corporate world, Sharon embarked on a path of full-time composing and production over the past 10 years, and has been studying songwriting, composition and orchestration at the Berklee School of Music (online) for the past several years and has also been participating in a number of songwriting retreats in Canada as well. She likes to describe her music as New Age, although it frequently incorporates elements of film music, ambient and contemporary classical music, too. Her latest album, Nature Dream, draws on her natural affinity for all aspects of nature that inspire and refresh all of us, and reflect our sacred and eternal bond to nature. Sharon hopes her music conveys a sense of hope, wonder, peace and joy to all listeners.

She completed her Masters Certificate in Songwriting in 2006, and recently completed her Specialist Certificate in Orchestration for Film & TV in January 2013, both from the Berklee College of Music (Boston) via online courses.
