Toronto’s Driving Lester has come a long way in a very short time. The hard-working quintet has established itself as a band to watch in the crowded Toronto club-scene, wowing fans with well-crafted songs and an energetic live show.

Driving Lester consists of Mat Berube (vocals), Dave Puzak (lead guitar), Jeff Cuthbert (rhythm guitar), Andy Powell (bass) and Franky Bechard (drums). The band released its debut CD in 2002, generating interest with the crowd-pleasing “80s Song” and an album full of passionate, lyrically interesting songs.

In 2003, after several months of playing live and getting great responses from the audience, the band headed into Metalworks Studios to record an EP with engineer/producer Brad Nelson (Alanis Morrisette, The Headstones) and producer Nick Blagona (The Tea Party, Deep Purple).

“We feel that this is our strongest recording yet,” says Berube. “We have been able to hone our songwriting skills over the last few months and incorporate all that we have learned into this new release, there is so much growth here.”

Winners of Sarnia, Ontario radio station K106.3’s Battle of the Bands in 2002 (beating out 12 other bands) and finalists in the Chatham/Sarnia-area Shine-On Productions Showcase in 2002, Driving Lester are known for putting on an incredible, high-energy live show.
