I am a storyteller. My stories appear in song, poetry, prose, and performance art.

I love music's ability to unite, comfort, inspire, and heal us. I write in varied genres, including country, folk, pop, alternative, and rap. The genre may reinforce the song's message, or create a contrast that intensifies the song's meaning.

The story behind Iraq My Brain can be found at www.iraqmybrain.com. All my proceeds from the song will be donated to military families in need.

I wrote Swamped for my family and friends in New Orleans following the devestation of Hurricane Katrina. A portion of those proceeds will go to non-profit organizations in New Orleans rebuilding after the storm.

I hope you will enjoy my music. I am grateful to the musicians who work with me to record my songs.

My Story

I have had many occupations during my life: housekeeper, shopgirl, non-profit director, tv executive, consultant, columnist. No matter my job, I identified myself as a writer. I love words; they are too often taken for granted because they are so available. We forget their tremendous power to change lives, change perspective, and challenge the status quo.

Songs are words carried on the breaths of a noted community. When the lyrics and melody reinforce each other, perfect harmony is created. My favorite song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, is one such example.

My goal is to write songs that inspire, inform, and entertain. I hope you will enjoy my work.
