Concepta: Born just two days after Christmas; birth name chosen by her mother.

Chetty: A name rich in Indian history; surname passed down from her father.

Coming from the continent of Africa where the art form of rhythm was born, Concepta Chetty has a rich passion and history in her soul that she plans to share with the world.

Born in Cape Town, and raised in Durban, South Africa, Concepta’s musical influences began when she was just a small child. At age 5, she began singing with her father, a drummer, at their local church where Gospel and Jazz heavily influenced her.

As Concepta entered school, she played the Recorder. Learning how to play the Recorder led to a successful skill in music theory. As Concepta reached her early teens she began expressing her musical talents even more with her voice. Concepta took vocal lessons and continued performing and singing at shows and concerts, which led to a true desire and passion for Concepta. When she is on stage, you can see the love, passion and charisma that she has for music.

In 1993, Concepta's dream to share her gift with the world became a reality. She started performing constantly, touring South Africa, Dubai, Bahrain, Zimbabwe, and Egypt, where she performed from 1999-2001. During her 6-year road tour, Concepta discovered a new talent, songwriting. Not only is she gifted with musical and performance skills, but she is also a model, dancer, and actress.
