"The MELODY of INSPIRATION"

Whenever Joseph Lee Hooker sings any of the more than 500 songs he has written in his career as a singer-songwriter, people stop to listen. They listen because he sings the melody of inspiration -- the melody of a MESSAGE, of a soul-seeking journey to that sleeping place inside ourselves that most of us have forgotten about, the place we miss, where everything really means something, and things feel the best. Life is a difficult ride, and thinking about its many twists and turns can be something we put aside or ignore. If you're looking to be happy, to be melancholy, to remember, to get motivated, or simply to FEEL SOMETHING true... this is an artist that cannot be ignored.

"The MELODY of INSPIRATION"

Joseph Lee Hooker is a prolific songwriter whose music has attained national and international acclaim. A singer/songwriter since 1963, Joseph first performed live on the big stage on New Jersey's famous Steel Pier as part of Tony Grant's "Stars of Tomorrow". He was the only solo artist to perform at the 1st International Pop Festival in Puerto Rico in 1972, following John McLaughlin and the Mahu Vishnu Orchestra. He performed at Vet Stadium in the early 1980's, and live on the nationally-televised Dance Party USA.

Joseph later performed at the Monterrey Pop Festival in 1990, sang harmony to "You Are So Beautiful" with Billy Preston, and performed at World Youth Day 1994 in Denver. His winning song, "Photo of the Century" awarded by Kodak, was performed for former Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell in 2000. Music videos to several of his songs air on cable TV stations worldwide. His most recent award came via the annual and wildly-popular John Lennon Songwriter's Contest for "The Miracle Song", written in honor of his departed son, Luke John, who died of liver cancer in 1997.

Hooker has over 500 songs registered or pending registration with the US Copyright office. He continues to write, record and sing on his Pennsylvania ranch as a way to heal, learn and grow. Indeed, his music as his own mentor and friend has become a theme on his journey through life.

"Music has been there for me when no one else was... God spoke to me, and I believe still teaches me, through my own songs. I've learned to pay attention because often, it can take me years to understand all the meaning... I feel incredibly blessed by the gift of music in my life..." -Joseph Lee Hooker
