Singer Sven Struble and guitarist Bret Calltharp first formed the band MP207 in October 2000. The band exceeded all expectations, including Florida's "Focus Magazine" which called their debut effort "as sonically powerful and creative as anything we've heard." However, the duo wasn't happy with the makeup and direction of the band so in July of 2001 Tim McDanel (bass) and Brett Jones (drums) were brought in and the band was reborn as Code Sunshine.

The band has quickly become one of the most buzzed about bands in Florida as they play the top rooms in the state, including The State Theatre & Goldstar in St. Petersburg, The Sidebar in Gainesville, Spanky's in West Palm Beach, The Masquerade & The Orpheum in Ybor City, Slingapours in Orlando, Club Neptunes and Gotham Hall in Ft. Myers, Greenbacks and Storman's Palace in Clearwater and regular shows at the Lost & Found in Orlando and the infamous Floyds Music Store in Tallahassee.

They have been selected to perform in front of thousands of fans prior to five Tampa Bay Lightning home games in the courtyard of the St. Pete Times Forum this season, including sure sell-outs against Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, Boston and the Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings.
