Cesco is a guitarist/singer/songwriter. He's been playing music since the young age of thirteen. He fell in love with guitar ever since.

Currently he plays with the SONic REVIVal PROJect in Trinidad and KOBO TOWN in Toronto. He hops back and forth whenever he's needed and whenever the road calls his name.

Cesco's bio

Born and raised on the lively twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago,
Cesco Emmanuel discovered his passion for music and the guitar at age 13. Cesco was a student for more than ten years at the Graham Newling Classical Guitar School.

His first taste of band life came at age 16 with the heavy metal cover band - Warhead. By 18, he formed the progressive/alternative band Brothers Grimm; it was during this time that Cesco discovered his love of songwriting. Big Eyed Grieve was Cesco's last group effort in Trinidad, formed in late 1996. Playing a unique hybrid of progressive-rock, funk, calypso and grunge, the band played on for six years.

In July 2003, Cesco showcased his solo material (featured on his debut EP 'One Man') at 'Acoustic Anti-Pop nite' in Trinidad. In September 2003, he migrated to Canada.
Two other solo EPs quickly followed: 2004's 'One Man & His Guitar' and 2005's 'The April Morning Sky Sessions'

Cesco performs and tours extensively with the 6-piece Calypso/Reggae unit - Kobo Town www.kobotown.com

Solo performances over the last six (6) years include numerous appearances at the Rivoli, El Mocambo, Horseshoe Tavern, Healeys and Clintons in Toronto.

Cesco has traveled extensively across Canada, most notably performing at the 2007 Montreal Jazz Festival (with Kobo Town) and in the U.S. - at the University of Chicago (with Juno-award winner Adam Solomon & Tikisa, April 2007) and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York (with Kobo Town, April 2008).

2009 was Kobo Town's first time ever in Europe, playing Berlin's Wassermusik Festival and Nurnberg's Bardentreffen Festival. Both shows were a great success. The group is currently working on a European tour.

Cesco has also appeared on CBC's Big City, Small World; Sounds of the Season; Metro Morning; Here and Now and Toronto's own Breakfast Television.

Cesco is currently running a guitar program in his native land - Trinidad, and is in the midst of revising a power-trio with some old friends. Look out for the SONIC REVIVAL PROJECT later this year.

He'll also be travelling back and forth between North America and Europe whenever the touring bug crawls under his skin. Next tour - Spring 2010.
