Bio

Bruce Holmquist was born in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1952. He began his musical career in the '68-72' period as rock drummer and backup vocalists for Bacchus, a rock group that played around much of New England. Of some historical interest, Bacchus keyboard player Edwin Kistler was then to join a short-lived group called Fox Chase, led by Steven Tyler not long before his name change and the formation of Aerosmith. Meanwhile, Bruce went back to college, graduating from the University of Vermont in 1976 while majoring in philosopy and psychology. Bruce was awarded the John Dewy Philosophy Prize that year for outstanding graduating senior in philosophy and was selected as a Rhodes Scholar Finalist. In the years to follow, Bruce has continued to play and write music privately while continuing a long career as a professional money manager. Bruce has now begun to release his music in the hope that others might enjoy it. His first release, "Fly the Friendly Skies", a song about September, 11, was promoted over radio and played on dozens of radio stations across the country. It reached #10 on New Music Weekly's AC 40 list and remained on that chart for over 5 months.
