Bio

Brian Curtin practices the mysterious art of combing musical tones with moving pictures. His passion is creating unique, contemporary music in today's media world. Combining his love of thematic orchestral music and electronics into one unique voice, his dramatic and provocative scores have involved full studio orchestras, as well as hybrid scores using both acoustic and electronic elements.

Brian's music has been licensed for documentaries, trailers, TV shows, cartoons and web videos. His music can be heard on various networks including ABC, NBC, CW, CBS, FOX, MTV, VH1, Discovery, History, Bravo, Biography, National Geographic, TLC, TNT, OWN, Travel Channel, Telemundo, Comcast, CMT, E!, G4 Tech TV, Oxygen, TBS, Syfy and others.

With a B.M. and M.M in Music Composition from the CSU Fullerton, Curtin comes from both a background of traditional and contemporary music. He went on to co-own "Music Merchants", a recording studio in Newport Beach, whose clients included Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Larry Gatlin (The Gatlin Brothers), Russ Freeman (The Rippingtons) and others. Curtin later continued his studies and won the prestigious BMI Jerry Goldsmith Film Scoring Scholarship while completing the UCLA Film Scoring Certificate Program. He also was selected for the SCL Mentor Program and more recently; Curtin participated in film composer Christopher Young's mentorship program.

Curtin is always sensitive to craft a distinctive soundscape that ultimately serves the project and the desires of its visionary creators. He's a team player who realizes that the creative process involves flexibility and collaborative communication to enable the project to maximize and exceed its full potential.

Brian is a member of Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), The American Society of Composers and Publishers (ASCAP) and the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL).
