I make hip hop songs, beats and jams that are real pictures of real people that live hard, work hard, play hard and dance hard. I have world class artists featured on my debut cd and all songs are original. Produced by a grammy winning producer (OutKast's mixmaster, Neal Pogue) and no two joints on this disc are alike..... Buy it. You won't be sorry.

BLAKE O.

Rock It Hard Records, Oklahoma City, OK, is proud to introduce our anchor artist, Oklahoma's own, Blake O. (O for Overstreet). His debut cd, "Buckle Down", produced by Grammy winning producer/mixmaster, Neal Pogue, in Los Angeles' Paramount Recording Studios, is an all original, uptempo, road-trip compilation for Everyman. Born and raised in Austin,Texas and OkC, by a carpenter father and a photographer mother, this new blood in musicology's vein is influenced by artists from several genres; you'll hear nuances of OutKast, Stevie Ray, George Strait, and Louis Armstrong, just to name a few on this fresh platter of hip hop served with a downhome flavor that rocks.
Blake O.'s original songs, which range from thoughtful to silly to profoundly adult, show the twenty five year old heart throb knows his way around American hip hop culture, just as well as he knows his way around a fretboard. It's hard to imagine another artist on the current hiphop/pop scene who combines the same deceptively understated, lyrical insight and sometimes devastating wit, honestly performed with such world-class instrumental and production skills. These skills are what got Blake O. hired to play guitar for Nelly Furtado on her song, "Let My Hair Down," while practicing at Larrabee Studios in North Hollywood, CA. He travels with fellow artists from Oklahoma, hype man extraodinaire, Lowacase, pro-scratcher dj, DJ Switch, LC on drums, and Supersmith, who accompanies him on various songs. Blake O. treats his fans like family, and is willing to get off stage and mix with the audience while never missing a lick on the guitar he built himself. He communicates constantly with his fans via websites and public contact and stays until the last autograph is signed and picture snapped after his rompin' stompin' live gigs. Blake O. has shared the stage with Simple Plan, The Last Goodnight, Katherine McPhee, Kat DeLuna, Chingy, Frankie J., DJ Unk, and Devin the Dude (featured on smooth groove, "Beat On," from the album), and has played several venues and clubs regionally with rave reviews. Online cd and single sales (websites, iTunes, eMusic), are brisk and Amazon.com will carry in this quarter. CD Warehouse carries the cd, and Best Buy and Walmart shelves will be loaded by the third/fourth quarter 2008.
