"ARM" BIO- Val, Scott (Toes), Randall - ARM is an Alternative Rock Band with two years of performance experience, & 20 original songs. At a time when e-mail, instant messaging, turbo tax, & ATM machines across the world are getting everything better and faster, ARM is satisfying that need for instant gratification. "An amazing amount of sound for 3 instruments; & that girl, such a powerful voice for such a little lady! ARM's catchy hooks will leave you begging for more. After hearing an ARM song just once, the chorus will stay with you the rest of the day. ARM is fronted by the seductive Valerie. She leads ARM with vigor & vibrancy. Randall's infectious drum grooves give ARM the "butt-shakingness" that todays alternative rock music is lacking. Toes brings vocals & hot riffs to the table, From Atlanta's Creative Loafing Mag., 2/2005

A little more about Dave,
Born in Virginia, into a family that didn't stay anywhere long, I attended thirteen different schools, and lived in twenty-six different houses by the time I hit the eighth grade. Settling down in San Francisco was great. That's when I picked up my first Bass. After learning Santana, and Allman Brothers tunes, I was knew I had a home in music. I Went through a few progressive garage bands in High School, and started jamming with Troy(Tesla)Luccketta. We hit it off, and loved laying down those tight bass & drum chops. We formed a band called "Whisper" and took first place in H.A.R.D.'s SF Bay Battle of the Bands. LOL, I thought I was real experienced by then. I had come in second Place with my band, Snapp, the year before.
"Yesterday & Today", "Eric Martin", we all were tight and shared rehearsal spaces and jammed together frequently. Music saved me from the horrors of home life. My dad disappeared, after the police came looking for him, when I was twelve. My cousin had been sexually abusing me since I was six. By the time I was fourteen, I was already writing anger/vent based tunes with titles like, "Take It Like A Man", "Ice Creams' Got No Bones", "Heal This". Musicially, I developed a love for Jazz and Country, which didn't sit well with my Rockin' bandmates. I started performing at A.C.T. as an Actor, and Orchestral Bassist, which taught me plenty, and landed me my first tours, which landed me in Nashville (TPAC, Nashville Academy Theatre) and almost every major city in the USofA. But, I missed the audience feedback/rush that happens during concerts. "Hank Williams, Lost Highway", has been a gift from God. Performing, and turning todays younger audiences onto Hank Sr.'s music, in a concert style, was a thrill. Now, I'm ready to back you up, continue writing music, and score my Musical "Smokehouse".

Dave blog

Damn glad just to be breathing. What a ride this life is. Always jammin', meetin' fellow musicians, singers, writers and actors, gives me a thrill, and keeps me goin' ! Sharing & playing music, my own, or somebody elses, is the most enjoyable thing. Writing a story, from my own heart and life experiences, for a song, for a screen, or for a breathing audience. Enlightening my own-self about my own-self. I don't want to ever stop learning about me. Which makes writing it for 'my own-self' seem justifiable. Even though it's a huge thrill, and greatly appreciated, when anybody enjoys or relates, and takes the intended meaning of my work to heart. LYRICS

ROLLER DERBY QUEEN
by Dave Canaday & Scott Ovrevik
check out: http://www.jamthemovie.com/

Five feet of fire

Smoke on her wheels

Hittin'em where it counts

Lookin'for a steal

Ya' see her flying by

Faster than a eagle

On a track made of maple

Zoomin' by the people

A smile on her lips

Ya' know she's got the pace

Gets knocked over the rail

An' lands on her face

She jumps back in the rink

She just won't quit

She's a risin' star

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

She's a blast of speed

An' has all the moves

Her work has paid off

She just can't loose

As a child she was plannin'

As a woman she made it real

No ones laughin' at her now

She finally cut a deal

Nothin' in her way now

She's skatin' past her past

Lookin' over her shoulder

At the woman on her ass

She's been workin' it hard

She just won't quit

She's a risin' star

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

Can you believe our Karey

Kickin' so much ass

All the crap she's takin'

It's her time at last

From San Jose to San Raphael

From Hayward to Lodi, and Austin too

You know she'll never fail

'Cause she knows all the moves

Don't give her any shit

She'll give it right back

She knows what she's doin'

Our Rookies' on the track

As a child she was plannin'

As a woman she made it real

She's a risin' star

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's A Roller Derby Queen

She's livin' her dream

Our Roller Derby Queen

VOUCHSAFE
by Dave Canaday

Pitfalls of monoliths
Giant orbs of tainted souls
While barren hopes fall silent
wanting answers
assigning blame
creating hate
because you disagree

Marginal, silent forgiveness
Of faiths we require
All profetic Godsmen unite
bringing love
lasting peace
human spirit
connecting souls

Stained glass shards
Thick books bound crimson
Everyperson found the same
goats milk
spiritual tea
grape juice
red wine

Your way
My way
His Way
Her way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Our way
Their way
Right way
Wrong way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Your way
My way
His Way
Her way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Our way
Their way
Right way
Wrong way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Cherubs of blue-eyed-blond Jesus
Korans in German print
Budas from Bayonne
skeletel closets
human error
rightious wrongs
seeking immortality

Pinacles placed in closets
Candle flame in your name
Broken glass to celebrate
show compassion
stop killing
inner peace
mortal pain

Brimstone purge to out evil
Languages older unprintable man
Whatever brings us all together
be one
pro humanity
we want
the same

Your way
My way
His Way
Her way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Our way
Their way
Right way
Wrong way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Your way
My way
His Way
Her way
We want the same
Vouchsafe

Our way
Their way
Right way
Wrong way
We want the same
Vouchsafe
