James P. started out in the mid 70's early 80's singing gospel music at church .Into his teenage and mid 20's James toured and opened for gospel artist such as Vanessa Bell ,and many other gospel artist and groups across the mid-west.By the late 90's James began to experience the R&B industry .Where he met Record Executive, John V. House who is now EXecutive of NXS TV and auditioned to become a member of the group ''Jus-4-Pleasure ''. Jus-4-Pleasure recorded an album on House Jam Records in 1994.Jus -4-Pleasure did many performances at different colleges and night clubs .they also performed with National recording artist such as SWV and Men at Large. James and other members of Jus-4-Pleasure decided to move on from House Jam Records after losing their distribution deal with Columbia Records to start their own group named Knight Squad'' under the label of Cool House Records in 1997. James met with A&R 's to shop demos with LaFace Records.LaFace Records decided that'' Knight Squad'' was not what they were looking for at the time.so, James and members connected with a manager by the name of Rodger Byron out of New York City to shop demos for a record deal with Executive Producer Barry Hankerson of Blackground Records. Due to the fatal plan crash of National recording artist Ahliyah the group was never signed with Blackground Records.After the ordeal James decided to take a break from the music industry. Ten years later, James gave his life to Christ.James was able to start back writing gospel music from which he started and now has his first solo album called ''JOURNEY'' and many more to come.
