Beerography

Beerjacket is one-man alt folk from Glasgow which has been variously likened to Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Jeff Buckley and "a lo-fi Rufus Wainwright".
Recent shows have included opening for folks such as Giant Drag, Arab Strap, Joan As Policewoman, Feist, Radar Bros, Liam Frost & The Slowdown Family, Malcolm Middleton, Jeniferever, Guillemots, Mark Eitzel, Rilo Kiley and Tom Vek, the latter having invited Beerjacket back as support on his 2005 October UK tour.
Upcoming shows include an appearance at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival which also features Martha Wainwright, Biffy Clyro, Guillemots, Mystery Jets and Echo & The Bunnymen amongst others.
Two home-recorded albums were self-released in 2004, 'Oh My Head' and 'Great Unhappiness', the second of which is available in full as a free download at www.soundlift.com/beerjacket.
The new Beerjacket record, 'Accident History', is the first studio album, recorded between 25th July and 19th September 2005.

Press:
His songs are captivating, his guitar playing pretty incredible, and unlike most artists who insist on keeping things stripped down, Beerjacket actually succeeds in keeping his sound interesting throughout the set. There's a billion other guys out there trying to do what Beerjacket does, but the difference is that Beerjacket has the talent and the natural charisma to be special. www.youngscot.org

Kelly is a classic songwriter... songs of headaches and heartaches
(Stuart McHugh) Is This Music?

Beerjacket aka Peter Kelly is bloody good.
Moving from tales of woe and sadness to humour, Kelly grips the crowds attention and impresses with complex rhythms and melodies. (Godfrey McFaul) Jockrock

Beerjacket (Glasgow singer-songwriter Peter Kelly) was up first. He's been compared to Bright Eyes but (like Conor Oberst's Dylan albatross) the comparison doesn't do anything for either artist really. He's one guy with a guitar who can f**king sing. That's all you really need to know. He has some beautiful songs, and his voice does strange things in such a small space. (Kevin O Neill) Rise And Shine

His fevered playing and impassioned singing make him stand out from the coffee shop crooners we are currently awash with. (Paul Clarkson) Crooked Rain

An absorbing and melancholy start from Peter Kelly, aka Beerjacket, a clear and passionately voiced Scot whose set is intimate and captivating, but lurking away I can sense intense pent-up frustration, even anger perhaps. (Megan Faye) Is This Music?

At some points he seems to be singing almost through gritted teeth, especially through Bad Party.
Through such songs he seems to silence the cave-like Bar Bloc, as the crowd hang on every note." (Allison Mann) Top Notch Online

Beerjacket aka Peter Kelly, is a talented Jeff Buckley style singer-songwriter from Lanarkshire whose Grand Plans may just come true with patronage from the likes of tonights headliner (Tom Vek)." (Milo McLaughlin) The Skinny

A voice rivalling Jeff Buckley. (Stephen McKenna) icscotland.co.uk
