Lyrics

Going Home
©2019 Greg Lambert

Top pulled down, beautiful weather
A little bit away from lots of love
Been a long time since we've been together
It's the only thing I've been thinking of
Going home, going home

Chorus

Sisters and brothers
Significant others
Aunts and cousins
Young'uns by the dozen

Old folks rocking
Laughing and talking
Sharing every memory they know
Going home

Looking at the years and all of the changes
A little less hair and a bit more skin
What age don't kill it rearranges
It doesn't really matter what shape we're in
Going home, going home

Chorus

Instrumental

Bridge

If home is where the heart is I'm all set
Mine is going home, where it's as good as it can get

Chorus

Very nice & fun. It's a happy song

always a pleasure to hear your work - ear candy et al. . .

Well, you know I have to offer some critique as your publisher partner. The title Goin' Home, suggests you are on your way home, but the lyrics suggest you are already home. while Goin' Home is a nice title, your lyrics don't all lead to that end. I think that's what a NSAI evaluator would tell you, as has been my experience. That said, its really a cool song with a nice vibe, I did notice a CCR bomp bomp on the intro. Good job Greg !

Another great song Greg. You have the ability to write songs that we hear and think "why didn't I write that?" An uncomplicated song that could be left in that form or built up with further instrumentation.

Well written, sung and performed all round. Well done sir!

Great feel good song! I would up the tempo and add a few kicks to give it a more excited feel. A lot of potential!

The highlight of this one is "what age don't kill it rearranges"...that's just a perfect thought that you snuck in there. Really wish there were more drums....building on the second verse...kept waiting...Vocalist isn't one of my faves....can't place what irks me about him...The lyrics could have used a little imagery of your traveling home...they just say that's where you're headed, but not how you're gonna get there...song stays in your head...Check out Hayes Carll's new album...I think you'll be inspired.
