I woke up this morning and found it was snowing
Snow on the ground where the grass had been growing
And all the things I thought I was knowing were gone, were gone


I've wandered through life, and it's been quite a journey
There are things I must do, but I'm not in a hurry
It just doesn't pay to live in a flurry of snow, of snow
Seems the Lord knows you spend half your life in the snow.


Still I go on chasing my dreams
Like a stranger in search of a friend
And oh, they can fly by so quickly
Like snowflakes adrift on the wind


In the summer my dreams were green in the meadow
Come the spring they will bloom with the bud on the willow
But for now they'll keep, safe 'neath a pillow of snow, of snow
Seems the Lord knows you spend half your life in the snow.
