Song Description

In the changing world around us; jobs, cities, divorce and relationships, we sometimes feel that the days in front of me meant no more than the days behind. But somehow, we always find a way to push forward. The first line of the chorus is a mockery of the traditional work adage, "Another day, another dollar". This statement sucks. Life is about more than just survival, it has to be. The lyrics describe an attempt to understand whether we are motivated by the desire to see a better tomorrow, or by the momentum of the day we just finished. "Another Dollar" is a hauntingly honest lyrical exploration complimented by simple, comforting and understandable musical support.

Story Behind the Song

Isolation, separation and endless possibility all gathered together one day on a flight from Chicago to San Francisco. The overwhelming fear of being alone stood juxtaposed to the awesome potential of being cut loose.

Lyrics

I sit alone in side my mind
Feeling wasted all the time
Closing doors are closing in
Feeling comes around again
Sit alone inside my fears
Know I?ve wasted all these years
Of feeling lots of nothing
Tears of being lonely for
Your heart

Another dollar brings another day
Another game of C.Y.A (cover your a**)
I?ll place my bets on losing everything
Instead of choosing you
Another minute?s too long to wait
See my face at the prison gates
Of love I?ve lost on you
Can?t take back can?t break through
Your heart

I?ll wash away this life of pain
Just to find myself again
All the tears I cried for you
All the fears I fly for you
Gotta stop it with all the booze
Another year of self abuse
I think of time I?ve wasted
Hearts I broke & thoughts I?ve littered

Instead of giving it away
I?ll give up on you someday
All the things I try to say
Make this okay

I sit alone in side my mind
Feeling wasted all the time
Closing doors are closing in
Feeling comes around again
Sit alone inside my fears
Know I?ve wasted all these years
Of feeling lots of nothing
Tears of being lonely for
Your heart

Another dollar brings another day
Another game of C.Y.A (cover your a**)
I?ll place my bets on losing everything
Instead of choosing you
Another minute?s too long to wait
See my face at the prison gates
Of love I?ve lost on you
Can?t take back can?t break through
Your heart
