Story Behind The Song

They wrote the music without me. Pinkie and Allgood were searching to make a band with something innovative, not just another clone of someone already out there in the business. And Allgood Asylum had gone through several vocalists, looking for someone who had the fire they needed, to redefine the band. Then they found me! So i am batting cleanup. The story behind the Allgood Asylum song 'circles' is one years in the making. As a vocalist and songwriter, i spent many years on my own and with other groups, just creating my own music from the ground up. There, the music was just something to play in the background, and maybe give a little guideline melodically-while i sang whatever i wanted, to get my point across... But when Allgood Asylum approached me to join their band as vocalist, everything turned upside down. Here was an established band, with songs completely set in arrangement, and tone. So to me, suddenly the music was first, and it was a challenge to write backwards, so to speak. At least, in reverse of how i had most always approached prior songwriting. In my opinion, i rose to the occasion, and met the challenge well. i was glad to just have the chance to make music, and the response so far has been tremendous. Live crowds love it, and the online listeners don't stop listening. We have had a great time with it. The well put-together music they had, just moved me to make the story in the lyrics as i have. Song Description

Circles, this is a mature song all about the feelings of abandonment by a friend who has been close to you. The lyrics express a frustration and an anger, and ultimately leave with a question unanswered, as well as a statement of the personal point of view of the speaker character, as portrayed in the song.
