Lyrics

Verse One
Lost my job, then my place
In the same week
Drowned my sorrows in Hennessey
Smoked 'em out with weed
Went to see my lady, expecting sympathy
Wouldn't even let me in,
Said she's fed up with me

Chorus
Um um huh
Um um huh
Um um huh
I'll be fine, I'll be fine

Verse Two
Needle on the dash says my tanks half full
That's just enough gas to make it through
To this cities edge, the point of no return
Once I cross that county line
Only forward, no reverse

Chorus

Verse Three
Tossed my Taylor in the back
Of that drop top coupe
Headed for an exit that's a highway route
Only baggage that I carry; mind, heart & soul
And this journey's going to test
All three I'm sure

Chorus

Bridge
This highway to heaven's one hell of a drive
'Til my car broke down,
Now it's one hell of a stride
Decide to tow my Taylor
Just left the car behind
Decide to tow my Taylor
It's my soul, it's my guide

Verse Four
The suns the Devils sidekick
With pride he grins
Beating down on my brow
Trying to make me give in
I'm not a haloed man, just knee deep in sin
But I'll be damned if I let the Devil win

Chorus
[repeat & fade out]
