Song Description

The young Templar approached the holy city, the end of his long journey finally at hand. As he stood at the crest of a hill overlooking the city, a monk clad in obsidian came to stand beside him. Feeling no alarm, only a kind of tightening of his heart, the Templar allowed him to share his vista. Suddenly words flooded his consciousness "For eons, men have warred for control of the Jerusalem. Crescent, cross and star, each laying claim to this strip of land, shedding blood, tears, triumphs and sorrows. All believers in the same thing and of the same place for all the same reasons. Yet they remain seperated by words written in books by men who claim to know, but who cant possibly know. Through all the miracles and all the wars, the city remains like a beacon calling the faithful and the hateful to her....crying out: come hither and add to my pain so that you may know that I am just like you. Behind these walls lie your tears." The Templar turned to look at this strangest of monks only to find himself standing utterly alone. Sighing, he mounted his war steed and made for the city, knowing....that he would never return from this place.
