She's Away Til Tuesday

Story Behind The Song

It's based on my own experience of going through a divorce and missing my children. I would appreciate every minute they would spend on the phone with me between weekends and I loved hearing their little voices.

Lyrics

She's Away 'Til Tuesday

Verse 1:
It's your weekend with your dad
Don't worry, I'll be fine
Got some things I want to do
And I can never find the time
But when I come home late and see your coat
And your hat is on the shelf
I call your name but your not there
And I remind myself...

Chorus:
She's away til Tuesday
You think I'd know that by now
It's only been a day
But I miss her anyhow
She's away til Tuesday
And I'm sittin' here alone
I'm missin' her so much
Feel like pickin' up that phone
She's away til Tuesday

verse 2:
It's Sunday night, just had a bite
Made enough for two
Watched our favorite show
And I'm feelin' kinda blue
So I call you up but you're not there
and I say... "remember me?
Just call me when you can
This is message number three!"

Chorus 2:
She's away til Tuesday
You think I'd know that by now
I keep leavin' her a message
Hopin' she'll get it somehow
But she's away til Tuesday
And I'm sittin' here alone
I miss her little voice
Wish she'd just pick up that phone
But she's away til Tuesday

Bridge:
I know he found someone else to say, 'I do'
Does she say she loves you too, like I'm lovin you?

Verse 3:
I'm happy that you're with your dad
But I'm sad that you're away
I really hope you're havin fun
It's only one more day
But when I call you as I clean your room
and I stop to rest my head
I hear your phone under the pillow
It's been ringin' in your bed!

Chorus 3:
She's away til Tuesday
You think I'd know that by now
I keep leavin' her a message
Hopin' she'll get it somehow
But she's away til Tuesday
And I keep dialin' her phone
But it's sittin' here in her bed
Just ringin' all alone
And she's away til Tuesday

Ending:
It's your weekend with your dad
Don't worry, I'll be fine
