Jazz Singer lady

Story Behind The Song

This song was written for the late Canadian Jazz Singer Laurel Long, whose amazing vocals inspired me to write the song immediately after I heard her sing the first time. Her vocal range was amazing - she could move effortlessly through 5 octaves. Her performances were wonderful - not a soul would move while she was singing. Sadly, she was finally brought down by cancer which gradually consumed her, and just on July 3/03, she left us for a pain free world. My great joy is that we were able to record this song and let her hear it a week before she died and she loved it. She IS the real Jazz Singer Lady.
